Rapid Waters camp was the dream of Colonel Biddle from the Canadian army who had spent time fishing the Miramichi in the 1940s. The lodge was completed in 1948 built by local trades people using local material including the river rocks used to construct one of the largest fireplace on the Miramichi still to be enjoyed in the living area of this magnificent camp.
 
Over the years Rapid Waters camp has had its share of famous people and dignitaries.  People such as Pierre Burton and Gordon Sinclair of “Front Page Challenge“, sport figures, Gordie Howe and Johnny Bower, Industrial Giants of commerce the Bronfman family of Seagram distilleries and the Rothman’s have all been guests.  Canadian icon Governor General Roland Michener who’s picture still hangs at the entrance.

Rapid Waters Camp offers a welcoming experience among surroundings that will take your breath away. 

 Situated on 3.8 acres, Rapid Waters Camp has 387 feet (118 m) of water front on the Miramichi River. The 5000 sq. ft. hand-built log retreat is fully furnished, equipped and very comfortable. Rapid Waters Camp is suitable for family holidays, couples and families sharing, or corporate/group retreats.

 

The 140 foot long structure contains 8 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a great room with a spectacular 18ft field stone fireplace, dining room, bar, fully equipped kitchen, pantry, laundry room, tackle and storage room, 2 covered porches and a screened room. Hardwood floors, exposed log construction, French doors and classic features throughout add to the quality and comfort of this summer getaway.

 

Rapid Waters Camp is located in Bloomfield Ridge, New Brunswick, 70km North East of the province’s capital, Fredericton.
